After 36 years as a veterinary surgeon with a special interest in equine medicine and surgery but in a mixed practice where I was also involved with the livestock side, I now focus entirely on giving veterinary advice to Underwriters, Brokers and Loss adjusters in the Bloodstock and Livestock market.

Qualified from RVC London I have worked in specialised racehorse practice, general equine practice and in mixed practice over the course of my career. A time working as a locum gave me wide experience of practice over the UK and included a short spell working for a zoo.

As a partner in a 9 person practice, latterly as senior and managing partner I have an understanding of the commercial realities of dealing with animal owners of all sorts.

For many years I was involved with the quarantine of horses, deer, llamas and alpacas prior to their export, mainly to Australia and New Zealand but also to the Far and Middle East. Often I would accompany these and other flights delivering animals worldwide. This has given me hands on experience of how quarantines work and the various procedures required. It has also given me extensive experience of travelling animals and the problems of all sorts that this can give rise to.

My CV includes being a racecourse vet and working with animals on film sets. I do Local authority licensing work and am also an FEI veterinarian attending several major shows in the UK as FEI Veterinary delegate. I am an examiner for the Worshipful Company of Farriers and have been for some 15 years and regularly examine farriers in the UK and for the advanced exams in the USA.

For over ten years I have been a consultant to the Horse of the Year Show and run the vet team there.

I have now left my practice and focus solely on the Insurance market. I have dealt with both Livestock and Bloodstock claims of all sizes in many different countries. I have travelled abroad on various tasks associated with these claims and am very happy to do so again. I regularly make calls to the attending veterinarians and others involved in claims.

Being the main focus of my veterinary work I can give you a quick and experienced response to any problems you may have. I have a practical and realistic approach to problem situations, experienced in dealing with people and their animals I can help you reach a solution acceptable to all parties.

Living near London it is very easy for me to come to the city for meetings and I am more than happy to come to your office if required.
